The reporting center, which has existed since 2007, received 446 reports in 2020, 64 percent more than the year before. There have never been so many before. Especially in March and April it was hit. The weather was often clear, SpaceX launched a number of satellites that were mistaken for UFOs, and people may have been staring at the sky more often than in previous years. Almost half of the reporters most likely hit the International Space Station or a satellite, the hotline concluded after investigation. But balloons, airplanes and birds were also worn out for UFOs.
