Important information that relates to our topic is that the GeForce RTX 3080 mobile card already has 6144 CUDA cores confirmed, but above all 16 GB of memory. This clearly shows that NVIDIA has long known that it did not make the right decision in the case of memory equipment for new cards and is now looking for ways to fix it. –
One of these ways is the upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, which will be equipped with 20 GB of memory and then of course the upcoming GeForce RTX 3060, which will also come in a version with 12 GB of memory, thus surpassing the cards RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070 i RTX 3080. That’s why it’s no wonder that information about GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER and RTX 3070 SUPER is already appearing.
NVIDIA would now find it difficult to launch another RTX 3060 and RTX 3070, modeled on the RTX 3060, which would only bring in higher (twice) memory capacity. But when it comes to the really new RTX 3080 SUPER and RTX 3070 SUPER, which aren’t just about extended memory, NVIDIA can easily defend them, especially if one (or both) would carry the new GA103 GPU, which is also speculated about. But so far only in the information from Kopite7kimi and otherwise we do not know anything about this GPU from other sources.
In the end, it may be the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti cards, for example. But it is clear that NVIDIA will want to provide new competition for modern high-performance Radeons, which both offer 16 GB of memory, which is a significant advantage.
