The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, this Sunday, January 3, 2021, a meeting of the Council of Ministers devoted to the assessment of the 2020 annual review of ministerial sectors.

After hearing a presentation by the Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Djerad, on the results of the government’s performance over the past year, the President of the Republic gave the directives concerning several sectors.

President Tebboune expressed his dissatisfaction with the management of some walis regarding gray areas, and here he insisted on the need to separate local development programs, highlighting some positive initiatives such as water supply and gas from tanks in certain border areas.

In the financial sector, the President of the Republic underlined that the black point in this sector is still the banking system which must be reconsidered, which requires control work at the level of all banks, in particular with regard to the transparency file in the granting of loans.

He also ordered to speed up the digitalization of the customs sector to fight against overbilling and drain the money that circulates in the parallel market.

Regarding the health sector, the Head of State stressed the need to continue the necessary preparations to launch the vaccination process against the Covid epidemic – January 19, according to a strict program.

Regarding the pharmaceutical industry, the Head of State underlined the importance of the implementation of the objectives set in this sector in order to increase the national production capacities of various pharmaceutical products and to reduce imports by this time. year. The results of the remaining sectors will be discussed in more detail at the next Council of Ministers meeting.
