Walid Manzoor, a doctor of the Egypt youth team, confirmed that what the Football Association said in its statement and report about the massive infection with Corona virus among the team’s ranks in Tunisia is unfounded.
Manzoor indicated, in statements on Ontime Sports, that Muhammad Abu Al-Ela, the doctor of the first team who moved to Tunisia to follow up on the situation, was not present in the team’s camp to confirm what was stated in the report.
Manzoor said: “There is no comment on the decisions of the Football Association, we suffered a lot and the team’s equipment sometimes slept in cars. We did not have any problems until we traveled to Tunisia and here the suffering began.”
He continued: “What the fact-finding committee said in its report is strange and unacceptable. All players infected with Corona virus were getting medicines in the morning, and medicines, drinks and masks were located at the doors of the players’ rooms.”
He added: “Medicines and masks were distributed to all players in the morning. I would go myself with Rabih Yassin and distribute them in front of our eyes, and this is also true for disinfectants.”
And he added: “It is possible to ask any player about what was stated in the report of the fact-finding committee, I do not know the reason for what Muhammad Abu Al-Ela, the first team doctor, said? And for whose interest?
He concluded: “Everything that was stated in this report is completely unfounded, how is it mentioned that the isolation took place after 48 hours ?!, when we discovered the injuries in the ranks of the hotel team, it was turned upside down by the Tunisian health authorities.”
