We regret to announce the death of Fernand Richard at the age of 71, peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday January 2 at Sensenbrenner Hospital. Fernand loved to play his guitar, was fond of fishing, and enjoyed working with computers and electronics. He was organist for the Parish of Sainte-Antoine-de-Padoue for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. To mourn his loss, he leaves his wife Mariette, with whom he had just celebrated 50 years of alliance last summer; her children: Nada Haralovich (John) of Ottawa, Carole Poisson (Daniel) and René (Mireille D’Amours) of Kapuskasing; his brothers and sisters: Denis de Hearst, Céline Richard (Alfred), Violette Deschamps (Michel), Julie Vachon (Roger), Elvis de Mattice and Jean-Guy de Kapuskasing; seven grandchildren: Michel, Martin, Ayden, Jessica, Emma, Marilyne and Maxime; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cécile and Napoléon; a brother, Maurice. A celebration of the Word will take place in private with Father Sébastien Groleau as celebrant. As a token of sympathy, the family will be grateful for donations to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. ©
