Odenwald-Tauber.The ministry praises involved in the special program to strengthen biological diversity were awarded the Baden-Württemberg Film Prize for the first time. Together with the NaturVision Film Festival, the Ministry for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection, the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector and the Ministry of Transport want to use this award to inspire filmic nature documentaries with a focus on Baden-Württemberg for the topic of ‘biological diversity’.
The Baden-Württemberg Film Prize honors films that depict the biological diversity of the natural and cultural landscapes of Baden-Württemberg in all its facets. In addition to the diversity of species, this also includes the diversity of communities, habitats and ecosystems as well as the genetic diversity within individual species. Further aspects are the sustainable management of landscapes, nature conservation on traffic routes, economic or social commitment to the preservation of biological diversity or scientific research in the field of biodiversity.
The film award is endowed with 10,000 euros, the award ceremony will take place in June 2021 at the State Garden Show Eppingen. Filmmakers can submit films that were completed after January 2010 on the NaturVision homepage. The conditions of participation can be found there as well as a description of the category and the exclusion criteria. The application deadline is February 15th.
