The equation is quite simple for the Washington football team. A win tonight over the Philadelphia Eagles and the National East Division title will be his, with a playoff berth.
Should Washington lose, the winner of the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants duel earlier today will be crowned the division champion and extend their season.
It remains to be seen which quarterback Washington will be tasked with preventing the Eagles from playing spoilers. Alex Smith, who missed his last two games with a calf injury, could make a comeback.
If Smith can’t play, Taylor Heinicke will get the start. The latter took over from Dwayne Haskins in the fourth quarter last Sunday in the 20-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Haskins has since been released on Monday by the team.
