NFL – NFL: Legendary running back Little passes away

Washington (SID) – The NFL professional football league mourns Floyd Little. The legendary running back of the Denver Broncos died Friday night at the age of 78 after developing cancer. The American Football Hall of Fame announced.

“Floyd Little was a true hero of the game,” said Hall of Fame President David Baker, “He was a man of great integrity, passion and courage. His off-field contributions were even greater than his amazing accomplishments.”

NFL boss Roger Goodell recognized Little as “not just a hall-of-fame running back, but a hall-of-fame person”. Believing family and football were the pillars of his life: “He has inspired many to be the best they can.”

Little played nine seasons for the Broncos, his jersey number 44 was no longer awarded by the club. In 2010 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
