New York. The New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square in New York this year is to honor the “Heroes of 2020” in the corona pandemic. Workers from the vital sector should be recognized for their perseverance, the organizers said on Tuesday. Among other things, singer Gloria Gaynor will perform with her successful track “I Will Survive”. Due to the corona, the event will take place virtually this year, as previously announced.
Only a few “special guests” invited
Jennifer Lopez, Cyndi Lauper and Billy Porter will also perform. The program is aimed primarily at a television audience; the usual huge crowd of people partying on the square in the heart of New York will not be there at this turn of the year. The organizers explained that only a small number of “special guests” from the group of celebrated “heroes” would be invited.
