Have you ever been in the nasty situation of purchasing a game, only to find that that specific game is part of the PS Plus line-up a while later? Well if that happened to you this month with ‘Maneater’, the so-called ‘ShaRkPG’ that came out last year, then Sony has good news: in that case you may get your money back from that game.
This can be called unique, because normally Sony does not give refunds in such situations. It is also currently only applicable to this particular game and not to other PS Plus titles. The refunds were noticed via Reddit and receive the following message:
‘As a subscriber of PlayStation Plus, we will refund the purchase price of this product to your PlayStation Store Wallet as this is a PlayStation Plus monthly game. This will not affect your ability to play the game as we have not removed the game from your library.’
A nice New Year’s gift, but this of course raises the question whether this will also be the case for other games in the future. Sony itself has not yet issued a statement about this, so at the moment we have to wait and see what will happen. It is also not entirely clear how long ago your purchase of Maneater may be in order to be eligible for a refund.
