FAJAR.CO.ID, – A number of countries have confirmed to start the vaccination phase in January 2021 as the first step to ending the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, a number of other countries had already vaccinated at the end of 2020. One year the Covid-19 outbreak hit, hopes of ending it rose in 2021 as a number of effective Covid-19 vaccines were found.

The challenge is not easy. In early January, the world was still faced with the threat of mutation of a new strain of virus that first appeared in England. Even so, experts say that there is hope that 2021 is a change that should be welcomed.

Canada’s deputy chief public health officer Dr. Howard Njoo said last week he was optimistic 2021 was hopeful after seeing the early stages of a vaccine launch in Canada. Meanwhile, Yukon County, Canada official Sandy Silver believes 2021 is a better year.

A clinical psychologist in Toronto, Dr. Taslim Alani-Verjee, said that he did not expect too much in 2021. Because 2020 is full of gloomy emotions, sadness, and disappointment. “In fact, talking about hope back then was very difficult,” said Alani-Verjee.

Alani-Verjee added that humanity needs to reduce expectations so as not to overdo it to see the world recover before the outbreak strikes. He believes the vaccine will end the pandemic, but it will take time.
