The Cinema Foundation has summed up the results of the film distribution for 2020. The most successful film in the Russian box office was Klim Shipenko’s “The Kholop”, among the foreign films – “Gentlemen” by Guy Ritchie. Box office receipts in Russian cinemas in 2020 decreased by 58.8% compared to the previous year.

- “Argument” (Christopher Nolan) fees – 942.8 million, viewers – 3.1 million,
- “Sonic in the Movies” (Jeff Fowler) box office – 637.2 million, viewers – 2.8 million,
- Bad Boys Forever (Adil El Arbi, Bilal Falla) box office – 614 million, viewers – 2.2 million,
- Union of Salvation (Andrey Kravchuk) fees – 571.3 million, viewers – 2.1 million,
- The Amazing Journey of Doctor Dolittle (Stephen Gaigan) gross 555 million viewers 2.2 million
- “Directly Kakha” (Viktor Shamirov) fees – 543.6 million, viewers – 2.1 million.
According to Film Foundation, the total box office receipts of the film distribution in Russia in 2020 amounted to 22.8 billion rubles, of which 10.7 billion rubles. (46.9%) from ticket sales for Russian films. The decrease in fees compared to 2019 was 58.8% (32.6 billion rubles). The reasons for this were the closure of cinemas and restrictions on the occupancy of halls due to the pandemic, as well as the postponement of major foreign premieres.
