A new online platform aims to help bring companies and young people together. And the annoying letter of application should no longer be necessary.
Training radar is the name of a new concept that aims to bring young people and training companies together better than before. It was developed by a start-up from Fulda and the Hessen-Chemie employers’ association.
“Our aim is to keep people who are willing to train in the training market instead of frustrating them,” says association manager Jürgen Funk. “Because rejections really hurt.” So it happens again and again that applicants reorient themselves after negative feedback and, for example, start studying. These rejected applicants should now have easier access to another training company.
Malte Bürger, one of the founders of Praktikumsjahr.de and partner of Hessen-Chemie in the training radar, gives an example. “The Merck company in Darmstadt, for example, receives around 4,800 applications every year, but only has around 200 positions.” There are correspondingly many rejections. “There are many very committed and qualified applicants among them who could be of interest to other companies,” said Bürger. The company or company to which you have applied should now be able to recommend them to others.
Don’t keep reapplying
For this purpose, citizens and his colleagues from Praktikumsjahr.de have set up the training radar. It is a platform that Hessen-Chemie member companies can access. There you will find the details of the rejected but good applicants – provided they want to and have registered there. In addition, they receive an exclusive link from the company to which they applied.
“Small and medium-sized companies in particular often do not receive as many applications as they need. The recommendations on the platform are primarily intended for them, ”explains Bürger. The application procedures, says Jürgen Funk, are often very similar. With the training radar, large parts of it would not have to be replayed and the applicants themselves would not always have to write new applications from scratch. The criterion for such a recommendation is: “Would you hire the person if there was another vacancy?”
The training radar started on October 20, and around a third of the 80 association members have already registered. However, applicants will only join us in the course of the next few weeks and months when the recruitment process for the next training year begins.
Other industries and associations should also be able to benefit from it. “We want to strengthen training as a whole. So that everyone benefits, everyone should work together, ”says Funk. The training radar could be interesting for the metal industry, trade or even the craft. You should be able to purchase a license for this.
All information for companies as well as help and explanatory videos for parents and young people is available on the website Ausbildungsradar.de.
