The remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl need to recover the mega evolution – EzAnime.net

If the highly anticipated remakes of Pokémon Diamond & Pearl are released in 2021, Game Freak should bring Mega Evolution back as a core mechanic.

When the inevitable Diamond and Pearl Pokémon Remakes are coming, they should bring the return of Mega Evolution with them. While nothing is official yet, rumors and speculation may point to the highly anticipated Pokémon remakes coming in 2021. Adding Mega Evolution to Diamond and Pearl seems like a pretty obvious decision, but Game Freak has yet to indicate that it’s even on the table.

Compared to other battle mechanics introduced in later generations, Mega Evolution was by far the best. The addition of Z-moves from Pokémon Sun and Moon was a decent idea that wasn’t nearly as practical, given the inherent randomness of it, and Dynamax from Pokémon Sword and Shield just isn’t a good mechanic. Mega Evolution was quite competitive and predictable, while also giving Game Freak a chance to revamp Pokémon that were underpowered or just in need of an overhaul. It made Pokémon like Beedrill viable in competitive formats and became a popular mechanic after initially being met with skepticism.

The possible remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl present a natural way to reintroduce Mega Evolution to the series. Dynamax is a phenomenon that is exclusively seen in the Galar region, so there is no real reason for it to be present in the Sinnoh region, and Mega Evolution takes its place quite easily. There are only five Pokémon from the Sinnoh region that can already Mega Evolve, so there are more than enough options to introduce the mechanics to more of its unique creatures.

Diamond & Pearl Remake’s mega evolution should focus on new Pokémon

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes need to bring megaevolution back

This time around, Mega Evolution should put more emphasis on Pokémon found in the newer generations. Game Freak has taken too much care of the first generation of Pokémon, so it’s time for some of the latest Pokémon to love each other. While the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes would naturally introduce Mega Evolution to many of the Pokémon found in Sinnoh, Diancie is the only Pokémon of the sixth generation or beyond that has a Mega Evolution. If Mega Evolution were to return, it would be nice to see it as a target Pokémon introduced after the third generation.

Mega Evolution is a great mechanic and there’s a reason so many fans continue to ask for its return. Game Freak came up with a fantastic concept in Mega Evolution, and it should continue to build on it. Riding a bike with new battle tricks for each generation doesn’t work, and it probably won’t. the Diamond and Pearl Pokémon The remakes present an opportunity to bring Mega Evolution back, and it would be a shame if Game Freak ignored it.
