Indonesian health workers were among the first to receive a mass Covid-19 vaccination in the UK, amid a large spike in cases that doctors and health officials have called a “tsunami” and “the most dangerous phase.”

Three Indonesian health workers who work at different hospitals in London will receive a second dose of Pfizer vaccine around the second week of January, to ensure full immunization.

The trio said they were “relieved” to get this vaccination and to be able to deal with the patients calmly, without worrying about infecting them.

Dyah Mustikaning Pitha Prawesti, a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology, who works at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, hopes, “I will be safer for vulnerable patients such as pregnant women, cancer patients and other vulnerable patients.”
