No truce of the confectioners for the ventriloquist David Eldé and his character Odile la Bretonne. The artist, installed at Ergué-Gabéric (Finistère) near Quimper, indeed provides a New year’s eve off the beaten track.
Thursday December 31, 2020, it will be live on the social network Facebook from 8:30 p.m. His goal? Make internet users laugh after a year 2020, marked by the Covid-19 epidemic and its consequences.
Last spring, I had to interrupt my show after about fifteen performances in Finistère. With the Covid, and during the first confinement, I started doing direct on Facebook every day for two months. The idea then came to me to propose a special evening for December 31st.
The appointment announcement was posted on Odile’s Facebook page :
For the occasion, she will put on her party clothes. They were made by Nathalie Broennec, from the embroidery school of Pascal Jaouen.
Improvisation and interactions
For the texts, David Eldé only resorts to improvisation. Nothing is written in advance.
For New Year’s Eve, however, the artist has planned to interact with the public. Internet users can thus reach Odile on 02 98 94 35 71. “We have also taken registrations for video calls …”, adds David Eldé.
A game will also serve as a common thread for the evening. Boxes of chocolate, cakes are to be won or given. Explanation: “Two choices will be possible: keep the prize for yourself or offer it to Secours populaire. “The stingiest could attract Odile’s wrath …
A record to beat
During this evening, David Eldé hopes to do 4 hours live and beat his record. The latter is around 3:20 a.m.
The artist has worked hard in recent days. “During the first confinement, I practiced a lot. My interventions lasted about 45 minutes. This allowed me to get to know Odile perfectly and to refine her character to really make people laugh, ”concludes David Eldé.
