Honor V40 benchmark test shows Dimensity 1000+ chipset, 90Hz display

Honor is expected to launch its V40 series in January 2021, and one of its members has already gone through Game Bench. The listing revealed that the phone with the NWE-AN10 designation runs Android 10 and sports a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It was also able to hit 90 frames per second, which suggests it has the screen to match it.

Honor V40 rated at GameBench

Leaksters have already revealed that the NWE-AN10 is an Honor V40 device, but we still don’t know if it’s the vanilla version or the Pro, or a third option. However, we do know that the GPU is part of Mediatek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset – a platform that is currently used by a handful of smartphones.

Honor the V40 Display Refresh Rate Performance

Since the phone’s screens are normally synchronized with the GPU, a 90fps frame rate in-game will only be achievable on a screen with a refresh rate of at least 90Hz. We cannot fully rule out the panel’s option to actually be 120Hz as a leak suggested, but the phone maintains 90Hz so consistently for most benchmark tests that unless limited in software, we don’t can’t see it happening. The most likely explanation is that we are looking at two different phones in the series.

Previously, the Honor V40 was already 3C certified with a 66W charger – the one we saw previously in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Nova 8.
