Cristiano Ronaldo wants the left rear of the Real Madrid, Marcelo, arrives at Juventus by next season, according to Italian media. The Portuguese had a great relationship with the Brazilian when he was in the Real Madrid. The current Serie A top scorer is eager to rekindle this old partnership in Turin.
When Cristiano Ronaldo left the Real Madrid for Juventus in the summer of 2018, the Spanish giants were expected to find his replacement. Los Blancos failed to find a player who could put the Portuguese behind them and ended the season without a title. This prompted Florentino Perez to invest in signing many players to allow Real Madrid to win La Liga.
Among the players who joined the Santiago Bernabeu last summer there was Ferland mendy, who quickly gained the trust of Zinedine Zidane and appropriated the left-back position. The Frenchman relegated Marcelo to the bench, and the Brazilian has shown no signs of improving this season either.
However, it is undeniable that Marcelo Vieira can still play football at the highest level, which may be why Cristiano Ronaldo now wants him at Juventus.
Zidane’s patience with Marcelo appears to have reached its limit and the Real Madrid coach may not be averse to a departure from the Brazilian defender. And the relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo could open the doors for Marcelo in Turin for the Brazilian.
The Old Lady has struggled to find options for the team’s left-back position this season. Alex Sandro was Andrea Pirlo’s preferred choice, but his injuries seriously penalized the team.
The arrival of the Real Madrid player would certainly give Juventus a fantastic option.
Real Madrid are reluctant to let Marcelo go mid-season, however. This is because Real Madrid don’t have too many options in their position. However, a late season departure is certainly a possibility.
La Fiorentina, and Cristiano Ronaldo would love to welcome Marcelo to Turin after the end of the contract in the summer of 2022.
Indeed, Marcelo Vieira has only made six appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid in this 2020-21 season, with Ferland Mendy being the preferred option ahead of him. The left-back will be 33 at the end of the season, and Real Madrid are making plans to replace him eventually.
