It’s a video that is talked about a lot in the United States. Posted on Saturday, December 26, it features a black teenager unfairly accused of stealing a cell phone, which illustrates the ordinary racism that is rampant in the country. The case was deemed important enough for justice to take up.
The facts unfolded in the lobby of a Manhattan hotel, At New York. A woman in her 30s wearing a mask is annoyed and calls out to hotel workers because she lost her phone and is persuaded the culprit is a 14 year old black teen. If she does not recognize the shell of her cell phone, she is sure that it is this young boy who took her away.
The tone rises and the woman even goes so far as to ask the teenager to prove that it’s his phone. The manager of the hotel seems to go in his direction before the video breaks and we learn that his cell phone was found in a taxi then reported to the hotel reception.
