Making natural fertilizer is extremely beneficial, not only for the pocket but also for the environment, in addition to guaranteeing a chemical-free crop and suitable for organic consumption.
The fertilizer rich in phosphorus essential for the growth and nutrition of crops and plants in general. This nutrient is assimilated in a varied way depending on the characteristics of the soil where the plantation is located, the amount of organic matter it has and the pH and EC levels.
The importance of phosphorus in crops
Phosphorus is crucial for the process of photosynthesis, energy metabolism and cellular respiration. It is found in nucleic acids and phospholipids, regulates the synthesis and transport of carbohydrates.
Its origin is in phosphate rocks, such as apatite, but not all soils have it, so its content is widely variable.
Fertilizer rich in phosphorus and soil pH
The availability of phosphorus depends on the pH, being more usable when the soil has a pH level between 6 and 7.
When the land where it is cultivated has a pH of between 7.5 to 8, the availability of phosphorus can be improved by organic fertilization, and in cases of soils with a higher pH a fertilization with sulfur and / or gypsum is necessary.
The more acidic the soil, the more likely the formation of aluminum and iron phosphates. In some cases it is necessary to increase the pH by liming the soil.
How to prepare a fertilizer rich in phosphorus
Necessary materials
The quantities are variable according to need
- 6 kg of aloe
- 4 liters of buttermilk
- 20 liters of fermented grass
- 4 liters of sugar cane molasses
- 20 liters of activated liquid Mountain Microorganisms (MM)
- 5 kg of phosphoric rock or monopotassium sulfate
- 4 kg flower of sulfur (sulfur saline)
- Chlorine-free or rain water
- 1 canister with capacity for 100 liters with gas outlet hose. These are specific barrels that have a hermetic closure and a hose in the lid that connects to a water bottle. Although they can be enhanced at home.
Step by Step
First place the liquid ingredients in the drum, and when adding the molasses it is necessary to dilute it first in 5 liters of water. Homogenize.
Subsequently, the grass, rock and sulfur are added, mix well and complete the capacity of the drum with water without chlorine until about 15 cm before the edge. Cover well to prevent air from entering.
Connect the hose to a bottle with water halfway.
It is necessary to let the mixture ferment and keep in the shade for 15 days. After this period, a mesh must be placed at the outlet of the drum to filter the content.
How to use the fertilizer rich in phosphorus
- For vegetables, 300 cc of fertilizer must be dissolved in 18 liters of water. For foliar application with a trellis pump every 10 days.
- Fruit trees: 20 liters of fertilizer in 200 liters of water.
- Potatoes: 1 liter of fertilizer in 18 liters of water, with foliar application.
- Irrigation applications: 2 to 3% in 100 liters of water.
