Tariq Al-Sayed, the former left defender of Zamalek Club, sent a message to Mustafa Mohamed, the team’s striker, and asked him to wait before professionalism so that Zamalek could benefit from the financial return and not deprive the club of its right.
The past days have witnessed Mustafa Mohamed’s insistence to leave the French League, amid rejection by Zamalek because of the financial value of the offer.
Tariq Al-Sayed said in statements to “On Sport” radio, “Of course, every player has ambition. Mustafa Mohamed has reached a stage of maturity, and he certainly has the right to look for a professional opportunity, especially in a distinguished league like France.”
He continued, “But my advice to him is that he still has to play in the Olympics, and thus he may have better opportunities and Zamalek benefit by doubling the financial reward. Why does he want to deprive Zamalek of his right to benefit from it?”
And he continued, “Zamalek wants Mustafa Mohamed to become professional at the right time and benefit everyone, just as Mustafa Mohamed is looking for his benefit. Zamalek is also like that. I love him and all the players, but what did the current generation do for the club?”
He continued, “If we look at history, Mustafa Mohamed has not won a league championship yet with Zamalek. In the current generation, with the exception of 4 players, you will not find who won the league. The current generation did not win Africa even despite their distinguished results.”
He stressed, “He participated in the Olympiad and contributed to the crowning of Zamalek in the league. After that, leave, the offer that came to you now because of your brilliance with Zamalek, you must respect your contract with Zamalek, things are not far away.”
He stated, “It is your right to search for your interest, but you must also look for the benefit of the club that contributed to raising your name and granting you a good contract even if it is not currently great, but at the time of your signing the return was definitely good.”
He said, “I played for Zamalek for years, compared to 30,000 during the season and I did not leave despite the offers.”
He pointed out, “The name Zamalek does not stand for any player. We definitely love all the players, but I say to them – Take the league and after that, walk – this generation did not win the league with Zamalek. What would they do with the club if they won the league?”
He concluded, “You must take into account the conditions of the club. When things were stable, the club did not spare anyone. When there are circumstances, the club is slaughtered, the team, God willing, offers a good match against Smouha and it is a message for everyone. Whoever wants to leave, let him go, Zamalek does not stand on anyone.” .
