The years of quarrel that André Hazes had with his mother Rachel and sister Roxeanne was the “worst time of his life”. That tells the singer Linda’s Wintermaand.
Hazes broke up with his sister and mother in 2014 when he got into a relationship with Monique Westenberg. According to Hazes, the quarrel arose because of his mother’s dominant attitude towards his new relationship. “But Monique did not let herself be wrapped up, because they were almost the same age.”
That resulted in years of quarrel, which Hazes describes as the toughest time in his life. “The first year I broke down. I had to seek help and talk about it, because I knew it was not our fault (he and Monique, ed.).”
Hazes has now returned to contact with his sister, who, according to him, immediately acknowledged that she had been wrong in the quarrel. “She immediately apologized when she came back to me. That was such a burden off my shoulders, because then I knew: I always felt it right.”
The relationship with his mother, on the other hand, is difficult again, but Hazes does not intend to make concessions in that area. “All parties know how I am doing – so that also applies to my mother – and this is the way it is,” he told Friday in Show news.
