This is how you protect your data in WhatsApp – iTopnews.de – Current Apple news & discounts on iPhone, iPad & Mac

In this i-mal-1 we explain to you how you are on the safe side with WhatsApp.

Don’t you want to share all data with your WhatsApp contacts or strangers? No problem. The app offers practical but somewhat hidden data protection settings. Settings. You can find this in the app under

Settings -> Account -> Privacy

There are four important points to consider

  • Last online (who can see when you were last online)
  • Profile picture (who can see your profile picture)
  • Info (who can see your profile information)
  • Status (who can see your status)

The first three points can either be shared with all WhatsApp users, with your contacts or with nobody. The status can be shared “with all contacts”, “all contacts except …” or only “with selected contacts”.

In the menu, we recommend that you also switch off the read receipt for messages. However, these read receipts cannot yet be deactivated for group chats.
