Thiruvananthapuram: An employee of ‘Raziyunni’ Anert mentioned in the chargesheet filed against M Shivashankar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the money laundering transaction. The ED has launched an inquiry into why Shivshankar shared information about the gold smuggling case with these CPM supporters. An employee of Anert, she was on deputation to Life Mission.
He later returned to Anert. M. Shivashankar had saved the name of the employee in the phone along with her husband’s name. The ED is also considering taking statements from them. M Shivashankar had a daily chat with an employee on WhatsApp about news related to gold smuggling and deals with PricewaterhouseCoopers. The chargesheet filed by ED did not specify who they were. According to the chargesheet, Sivashankar had chatted with Sarith and Swapna, the accused in the case.
The chargesheet said that after receiving a bribe of Rs 1.08 crore in the Life Mission deal, Shivashankar had recommended Unitac Builders to many people and Shivshankar did not answer any questions regarding this. The ED filed the supplementary chargesheet after it was found that Shivshankar had a strong role in the case.
