Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 3353 analyzes were carried out and 371 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 371 new cases, 223 are from Montevideo, 60 from Canelones, 23 from Rivera, 15 from San José, 10 from Tacuarembó, 9 from Maldonado, 8 from Durazno, 6 from Lavalleja, 4 from Florida, 3 from Cerro Largo, 3 from Salto, 2 from Paysandú, 1 from Artigas, 1 from Flores, 1 from Río Negro, 1 from Soriano and 1 from Treinta y Tres. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 606,387 tests have been processed and 16,218 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 10,847 have already been recovered.

Today 4 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Maldonado, 88 years old, 1 patient from Artigas, 58 years old, and 2 patients from Montevideo, 83 and 84 years old. So far there are 147 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5,224 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 71 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 1,065 correspond to health personnel. 861 of them have already recovered, 201 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATION: The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 15,848 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 371 new cases and a total of 16,218 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because a foreign citizen tested positive and returned to his country.
