Detection of avian influenza antigens at a broiler breeder farm in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do

Avian influenza antigens were detected at a broiler breeder farm in Seokgok-ri, Godeok-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungnam.

According to the Central Accident Control Center (heavy water version) on the 26th, the farm was confirmed to have detected H5N8 type avian influenza antigen as a result of the inspection by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock Quarantine on that day. Whether it is highly pathogenic or not is expected to come out this evening.

Previously, on the 25th, Jungsubon was confirmed positive as a result of a simple test at an animal hygiene laboratory in Chungnam Province after receiving a report of an increase in mortality at a broiler breeder farm in Seokgok-ri, Godeok-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.

Jungsubon immediately dispatched an initial response team to the site to control access to the farm and conduct an epidemiological investigation. In addition, movement restrictions and forecasting and inspections are being implemented for farms within a 10km radius.

Chungnam-do is currently carrying out preventive killing of 145,000 broilers in the farm.
