The Dutch film The Condemnation has on the custom online edition of the Seattle Film Festival won six awards. Fedja van Huêt received the prize for best actor and Lies Visschedijk won in the category best supporting actress for their roles in the thriller. Yorick van Wageningen won in that category of male supporting actor. The film also won the grand jury prize.
The Condemnation is about the Deventer murder case. The film, which should be screened in the Netherlands in April, is a reconstruction of the murder of the widow Jacqueline Wittenberg in 1999. The book that Nieuwsuur journalist Bas Haan published about the murder formed the basis for the script.
