The Hermosillo Naranjeros increased their lead atop the Mexican Pacific League after scoring twice in the seventh inning to break a tie en route to a 6-4 victory on Friday over the Algodoneros de Guasave.

In Culiacán, Carlos Sepúlveda hit 5-4, with three RBIs and two scored, while Jonathan Arana went 4-2 with an RBI in the Yaquis of Ciudad Obregón’s 7-3 victory over the Tomateros.
Arturo López (3-1), retired two and a third innings without allowing runs to score the win, and while the setback went to Edgar Arredondo (4-1), after allowing five touchdowns, four earned, and seven unstoppable in six chapters.
At Monterrey, Alberto Carreón hit a two-touchdown home run in support of a solid start by Jesse Estrada, and the Sultanes de Monterrey defeated the Charros de Jalisco 4-1.
Estrada (1-4) completed five scoreless episodes of just four hits to win for the first time of the season, while José Oyervides (4-2) took the loss, after allowing four touchdowns and six hits in four episodes.
At Los Mochis, Isaac Rodríguez hit a solo homer, Jesús Arredondo went 4-2 with an RBI and Juan Uriarte added an RBI double of one more in the Cañeros’ 4-2 win over the Mayos de Navojoa.
Nicolás Heredia (2-3) retired two blank innings in relief work to claim victory, while the loss went to Marco Carrillo (5-2), after conceding four touchdowns and five hits in four and two-thirds innings .
Hermosillo leads the second round with a 16-9 record, followed by Mexicali (15-9), Guasave (14-11), Obregón (14-11), Monterrey (13-12), Jalisco (12-13), Mazatlán (12-13), Culiacán (11-14), Navojoa (10-15) and Los Mochis (7-17).
