To generate in the school community and society in general a deserved recognition of women for their invaluable social contribution.
Tlaxcala, Tlax., December 25, 2020 (Drafting) .- The Secretary of Public Education of the State (SEPE) and the Educational Services Unit of Tlaxcala (USET), in coordination with the Unit for Gender Equality of the agency, carried out different actions within the facilities of the administrative complex, as well as in various municipalities of the entity, with the aim of preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.
Laura Gabriela Padilla Pelcastre, coordinator of the Gender Equality Unit of SEPE-USET, highlighted the support and interest of the Secretary of Public Education, Florentino Domínguez Ordóñez, to disseminate through the official social networks of the agency, as well as in posters placed in central offices and virtual conferences via Zoom or Facebook, actions for the protection and empowerment of women.
The official highlighted the importance of the educational community joining the dissemination of these campaigns, as she asserted that violence against women and girls is one of the most persistent and devastating human rights violations in the world today.
Padilla Pelcastre explained that, to achieve this objective, from the official social networks of the SEPE-USET, campaigns such as # Orange Day were disseminated, where every 25th of the month information is shared under the slogan “Together against violence against women” ; #AlasParaElCambio, which seeks to prevent acts of gender violence that are experienced in families, schools, workplaces, public spaces and in general in communities.
Similarly, the #OctubreRosa campaign was launched, aimed at the prevention and detection of breast cancer; important dates were highlighted such as March 8, “International Women’s Day”; on September 21, “International Day of Peace”, among others.
Finally, Laura Gabriela Padilla pointed out that with the support of the educational authorities the actions will be maintained in 2021, in order to build a future free of violence for women and girls with solidarity, equal treatment and respect.
