Digital transformation will positively change the entire healthcare sector | Health

Hanoi (VNA) – The national digital transformation program in the health sector in 2020 – Ehealth Vietnam Summit, will take place on December 29 and 30.

The program aims to apply the decision 5316 / QD-BYT of December 22, 2020 of the Ministry of Health on the national program for digital transformation in health for 2025, guidelines for 2030.

During a December 24 press conference in Hanoi, the head of the Information Technology Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, Tran Quy Tuong, said that in recent years, the health sector has achieved advances in the application of information technologies and access to digital technologies.

“To date, 100% of the country’s hospitals have launched hospital management information systems; ten hospitals and one clinic applied electronic medical records; 23 hospitals have started using image archiving and transmission systems (PACS). Some hospitals in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City use social networks as a channel for interaction with patients, ”he said.

Currently, 99.5% of medical consultation and treatment centers nationwide are connected to the Vietnam Social Insurance assessment system.

In 2020, the health sector implemented a remote medical consultation system, which currently includes 1,300 telehealth facilities.

The healthcare industry is also interested in the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics with four exceptional robotic systems used in modern medicine.

The health sector has developed electronic medical data in 36 cities and provinces. In 2021, the sector will develop them in all 63 cities and provinces of the country.

In particular, the health sector has made inroads in the application of information technology to support the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, such as the voluntary declaration of health status through NCOVI, Vietnam Health Declaration, Bluezone, Safe COVID-19 applications …

The head of the Information Technology Department said that by 2030, the sector will strive to apply digital technologies in the majority of its activities and services to create a healthcare system of health will understand. -VNA
