A NYPD was injured in a shooting in Brooklyn, and has been taken to Kings County Hospital.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Bergen Street in the Crown Heights section around 9:15 p.m.

The suspect has been taken into custody, police said.

The officer, for his part, is conscious. Apparently he was saved by his bulletproof vest.
