Jena | 1,250 students use the corona rapid test
A corona quick test campaign for students shortly before Christmas met with great demand. A total of 1,250 students, schoolchildren, trainees and residents were tested in Jena and Weimar. According to the organizers, twelve people received a positive result. They also had to have a PCR laboratory test carried out by their health department. The rapid tests were initiated by the doctor Cornelius Golembiewski in order to be able to give students security before they go home for Christmas. The test cost ten euros for students and 30 euros for non-students. One euro is donated to cultural projects for each test.

Thuringia | Pandemic delays the start of the online watch
There are delays in the digitization of the Thuringian police due to the corona pandemic. “The Corona crisis challenged us very much, especially in the first half of the year, so that some projects that we would have liked to have completed earlier take a little longer,” said Thuringia’s Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD). Hildburghausen | Quarantine for nursing home residents after family visit
Nursing home residents in the Hildburghausen district have to be in quarantine after visiting relatives at Christmas. This has been true since Christmas Eve. The new rules of the so-called amending decree are intended to help prevent the virus from spreading further in care facilities. Residents must isolate themselves for 14 days after returning from a visit or hospitalization. If the corona test is negative, the quarantine can be shortened – but from the fifth day at the earliest.

Bad Salzungen | Presence church services at Kaltensundheim canceled
The Evangelical Church of Bad Salzungen-Dermbach canceled the attendance services in the Kaltensundheim area at short notice on Christmas Eve. As a spokeswoman announced, this applies to the parishes of Kaltensundheim, Aschenhausen and Erbenhausen and Melpers. There will be no services until January 10, it is said. The parishes of Kaltennordheim, Fischbach, Diedorf and Klings also join the resolution of the parishes in Kaltensundheim. The churches in the parish of Kaltennordheim remain open on Christmas Eve. More young people are starting training in nursing
The increased efforts of clinics and geriatric care institutions to attract new caregivers seem to be paying off in Thuringia. This is suggested by figures from the Ministry of Social Affairs, according to which the number of trainees in nursing has recently increased significantly. According to the ministry, 1,639 school leavers began training in hospitals or care facilities in the current 2020/21 training year.
