According to team insider K.C. Johnson An agreement between the Finnish star Lauri Markkanen and the Chicago Bulls is far from in sight. The 23-year-old joined the Bulls in 2017 after being selected 7th in the NBA Draft. After the 2020/21 season, the rookie contract of the 2.13m tall Big Man expires.
The deadline for players who are to become so-called “restricted free agents” before the next season ends next Monday. This would mean the Finn could be one of the strongest available players in the player market next spring if an agreement is not reached. Chicago would like to keep Lauri Markkanen, but the salary expectations seem to vary widely.
