Paris Saint-Germain sacked manager Thomas Tuchel today just months after leading his squad to the Champions League finale.
Paris Saint-Germain was scuffling a bit in Ligue 1 during this campaign (for its standards anyway), but Tuchel’s performance in driving his team to a somewhat improbable UCL run last season apparently did not buy him much goodwill.
Tuchel, who was linked to Bayern Munich at one point in the past, received the Christmas gift that absolutely no one wants:
Thomas Tuchel has been sacked by PSG board, confirmed. Game over and new manager is coming. Official announcement expected soon. @cfbayern #PSG #Tuchel

Still a popular and lauded manager, speculation already has begun on where Tuchel might land. To no one’s surprise, both Arsenal and Manchester United were listed as possibilities:
On of the best German Coaches is free for a new challenge – and Thomas Tuchel is interested in the next step: Premier League @ManUtd @Arsenal

While Tuchel’s name was immediately linked with the embattled Premier League clubs, one has to wonder if he might take a little hiatus from the club scene.
Maybe he can get out of the game for a bit and work at an off-brand Foot Locker like Poot did in The Wire?
Or…
Maybe he’ll sit back and wait for the dumpster fire that is the German national team under Joachim Low to finally rage so far out of control that the DFB will act?
Probably not, but at least the content for Arsenal FanTV will be ample.
