It seems that Paris Saint-Germain has not wasted much time, and former Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino will replace Thomas Tuchel, according to a tweet published by Mohamed Bouhafsi, a journalist of the French RMC network.
Bouhafsi wrote: “Mauricio Pochettino will be the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain.”
The newspaper “Bild” and the German network “Sky” had published a report in which it was clear that Thomas Tuchel, the coach of the French team, had been dismissed from his post. (See details)
Pochettino led Tottenham from May 2014 to November 2019, and coached the team in 293 matches in all competitions, winning 160, drawing 60 and losing 73.
Pochettino has not coached any team since his departure from Tottenham in November, although he was linked to coaching many clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid, but he continued without a job.
This comes after a busy night, Paris Saint-Germain had won 4-0 in the 17th round of the French League against Strasbourg. After the match, Tuchel ignited the atmosphere with statements in which he complained about the “high expectations” and that the club “is not like Bayern Munich, to name a few.”
Tuchel took over as coach of Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018 and his current contract with the team extends until the summer of 2021.
Tuchel led St. Germain in 127 matches in all competitions, winning 96, drawing 11 times and losing 20.
Saint-Germain is third in the French league table with 35 points, one point behind leaders Lyon.
