Border checkpoint stops in Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Kovid checks will no longer be available at the border for those traveling to Abu Dhabi. Instead, those coming to Abu Dhabi will have to undergo tests at other Kovid testing centers, officials said.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster Committee has decided to continue with the restrictions, with only a few concessions, as the campaign to lift all restrictions by December 24 continues. Kovid will continue to check entry to Abu Dhabi, despite a reduction in procedures, including quarantine.

Border checks to enter Abu Dhabi will be suspended from Thursday. However, a DPI test result or a PCR test result that Kovid is negative is mandatory to enter Abu Dhabi. To this end, the facility of testing centers has been enhanced under the leadership of Seha. If earlier the Kovid test result was required within 48 hours then this month the test result between 24 and 72 hours is sufficient.

The committee also recommended conducting extensive screening programs for residents of industrial areas and large populated communities. The committee also said that screening will be conducted for the employees of commercial establishments.

The move is aimed at enhancing testing capabilities at SEHA screening centers outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Quarantine has been completely eliminated for those arriving from countries on the relatively low green list.

However, those coming from non-listed countries including India are required to stay in the Institutional Quarantine for ten days. Earlier it was 14 days. Ten days of quarantine is sufficient if those who have been in contact with the patient test negative on the eighth day.

On the fourth and eighth day after entering Abu Dhabi, there is a change in the inspection conditions. From the 24th of this month, those entering Abu Dhabi will have to stay for more than six days, while on the sixth and 12th days, the Kovid inspection is mandatory.
