Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (12/23/2020)
Epidemiological report
According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 10,892 analyzes were carried out and 712 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 712 new cases, 481 are from Montevideo, 88 from Canelones, 30 from Rivera, 24 from Florida, 18 from San José, 15 from Maldonado, 12 from Tacuarembó, 11 from Durazno, 6 from Artigas, 6 from Treinta y Tres, 5 from Cerro Largo, 5 from Salto, 4 from Soriano, 2 from Lavalleja, 2 from Paysandú, 1 from Flores, 1 from Río Negro and 1 from Rocha. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.
Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 583,473 tests have been processed and 14,710 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 9,574 have already been recovered.
Today 8 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Canelones aged 80 years, 1 patient from Tacuarembó aged 54 years and 6 patients from Montevideo aged 62, 69, 80, 81, 87 and 91 years. So far there are 128 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.
There are currently 5008 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 59 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.
Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 1008 correspond to health personnel. 782 of them have already recovered, 223 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.
As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.
CLARIFICATION: Yesterday the total positive cases confirmed to date was 14,001 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 712 new cases and a total of 14,710 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 3 foreign citizens tested positive and returned to their countries.
