the German city of Ansbach donates 15,000 euros

The fire in the Pignada forest in Anglet on July 30 moved as far as Germany: the town of Ansbach in Middle Franconia (Bavaria) donated 15,000 euros to Anglet. This is the result of a donation from the German municipality twinned with Anglet, but also of a donation campaign carried out among the people of Ansbach. Elke Homm-Voegels, the first deputy mayor of Ansbach specifies this Wednesday, December 23, 2020 that “we are not just twin cities, we are a big family. And if a family member is in pain, then the whole family will gladly help him“. The Bavarian city council also voted unanimously in favor of this donation campaign, many elected officials having visited Anglet on the occasion of twinning acts.

The mayor of Ansbach Thomas Deffner, communicated the information to his Angloy counterpart Claude Olive (LR), during a videoconference exchange. The latter proposed that when the reforestation of the Pignada takes place, a plot will be specifically dedicated to the planting of trees on behalf of the City of Ansbach. He also informs that the donation campaign for reforestation has already raised 100,000 euros.
