Since the very first episode of The Last Dance was released, the GOAT debate has been totally revived. Asked about the question, Michael Cooper had the worst difficulties to decide between Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and company.
The Last Dance allowed fans to NBA to relive the epic of Chicago Bulls of Michael Jordan. At the same time, the documentary series totally revived the debate on the GOAT. During an interview with Lakers Daily, Michael Cooper took a position on the issue. While he believes LeBron James is the best player today, the former glory of the LA Lakers do not necessarily see King James like the best of all time.
“The current GOAT is LeBron James, but”
“With what’s going on in the NBA right now, one would tend to say that LeBron (James) is the best player of all time. Put it back in the ’80s with Magic (Johnson), Michael Jordan, George Gervin, Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar) – he would probably be in the mix with all of these players. So the current GOAT is LeBron, but try to put it all together and get one out. You will get a different answer for each person. (…) I love Kobe Bryant. I love LeBron. There are a lot of players I could choose from. Michael Jordan. I had great respect for Larry Bird. I didn’t like him very much, but I respect what he did on the pitch. I would choose Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar) as my GOAT ”, judged Michael Cooper in comments reported by Let’s talk basketball.
