Lewandowski is certain: “I would have won the Ballon d’Or!”

In an interview with “France Football”, Robert Lewandowski spoke about the cancellation of the Ballon d’Or this year. The 32-year-old emphasized that the decision was made too early. According to his own statements, he would have “undoubtedly won” the award.

Lewandowski was voted FIFA World Player of the Year last week. The striker has thus crowned his unique 2020. Many experts, fans and the media are sure that the Pole would have won the Ballon d’Or too. Lewandowski sees it that way too.

“The decision was made too early”

Speaking to “France Football”, the host of the Ballon d’Or, the 32-year-old said: “I know the reasons why France Football canceled the Ballon d’Or, but to be honest, I think that the decision was made a little too early ”. However, he did not want to openly address the reasons themselves.

Lewandowski is certain, however, that if the prize had been awarded, he would have won it: “Bayern won everything, played well and scored many goals. We had the best team. So it would probably have been a Bayern player too. Would I have won? Without doubt”. The Polish international is not frustrated about the cancellation: “I won other important titles in 2020”.
