Xiaomi will present the Mi 11 on December 28

After the launch of the iPhone 12, the media began to take an interest in the next high-end models that will be launched by other manufacturers. And among the competitors of Apple’s models there will be the new generation of premium device from Xiaomi: the Mi 11 and its variants.

Several rumors are already circulating about these devices. Sources had also indicated that these models could be launched as early as this December. And today it is confirmed.

A Chinese presentation before the end of the year

Indeed, as reported by the Android Authority site, Xiaomi announced on its account on the Chinese social network Weibo that the Mi 11 and its variants will be unveiled on December 28. But for now, this is only the Chinese presentation.

Xiaomi has a habit of presenting its devices twice: first in China, then a global presentation (in English). And it is very likely that the worldwide presentation of the Mi 11 and its variants will be shortly after this event of December 28 in China.

In any case, from December 28, we will therefore know the characteristics of the new high-end devices from Xiaomi, which will be part of the iPhone 12’s competitors. On the other hand, we will certainly have to wait for the global presentation to know the prices in Europe and date of commercialization.

The first smartphone using the Snapdragon 888?

Since other manufacturers are not expected to present their new high-end smartphones before New Year’s Eve, Xiaomi’s Mi 11 should therefore be the first smartphone using the Snapdragon 888 processor. As a reminder, this is a new component. intended for premium Android models from 2021.

And like the A14 Bionic processor of the iPhone 12, the Snapdragon 888 is engraved in 5 nm, which allows to have a gain in performance and energy efficiency. Many manufacturers have already announced that their next premium devices will use this processor.

Among these there is Xiaomi, but also Oppo and OnePlus. Samsung has yet to comment on this. Nevertheless, it is very likely that the Korean giant will use both the Snadragon 888 and an equivalent offered by its brand Exynos.

Some models are expected to use Qualcomm’s processor, while others will use the Exynos 2100 (which should have very similar specifications). By the way, on this subject, we already know when Samsung will present this new Exynos processor.

Indeed, recently, the Korean giant posted a teaser on Twitter, indicating that the next Exynos will be unveiled on January 12. Otherwise, currently, it’s already almost confirmed that Samsung’s next premium models, the Galaxy S21 and its variants, will be unveiled as early as January, while traditionally Samsung’s first Unpacked event takes place in February.

But after a year 2020 disrupted by the pandemic, and the release of the iPhone 12 which are a hit, Samsung probably wants to bring its new premium models to the market as soon as possible.
