The group will perform the first movement of the Serenade in C Major, by Piotr I. Tchaikovsky; in addition to music from the South American baroque, works of national and Latin American folklore. The closing will be with traditional Christmas carols.
As soloists the soprano Betania Báez, the accordionist Arturo Benítez, the violinist Lilo Riveros and the harpist Luana Sosa will participate.
The orchestra is made up of ten violinists, three violists, four cellists and a double bass player.
For its part, the Chamber Orchestra of the Municipality of Asunción (OCMA) will offer today at 8:00 p.m. a Christmas concert in the San Rafael parish (Cruz del Chaco 1690 c / Alfredo Seiferheld). It will be free access, until the capacity allowed according to health protocols is completed.
Under the baton of Miguel Ángel Echeverría, OCMA will present a repertoire with works by Tchaikovsky, Leroy Anderson and traditional themes of this festivity such as “Christmas in Paraguay”.
As soloists, the soprano Lilian Rodríguez, the tenors César González and Giovanni Pirelli Cubas, and the violinist Wilfrido Cáceres will participate. The master coach is Victoria Real.
In the Costanera de Asunción, the folkloric groups together with El Rey del Barro will offer today a fusion of ceramics, song and dance. At 20:00 this show will begin in which to the sound of music, the potter Reinaldo Sanabria will seek to model a Christmas crib in record time.
