Football regional league Kickers Offenbach wants to finish the last competitive game of the year at TSG Balingen tomorrow. Coach Angelo Barletta calls for a warm heart and a cool head. However, he still has to forego short-term mandatory access.
Offenbach – The day before the last competitive game this year at TSG Balingen (tomorrow, 7 p.m.), regional soccer team Kickers Offenbach surprised with a new signing. The club signed Charles Elie Laprevotte. The 28-year-old German-Frenchman was without a club after the end of his contract with third division 1. FC Magdeburg and is therefore immediately eligible to play.
Laprevotte, trained at Racing Strasbourg and SC Freiburg, for which he also played a Bundesliga game, was last two and a half years in Magdeburg after his interlude at Preußen Münster (29 third division games), and played 19 second and 38 third division games for the club. He expands the ranks of central midfielders at the Kickers. In Tunay Deniz, Tim Dierßen, Maik Vetter, Luka Garic and Luigi Campagna there are already five players in the squad, who can be used as eighth and sometimes also as six. “With him we get a very strong ball possession footballer who has his strengths in defensive midfield both in capturing the ball and in building up the game,” said OFC Managing Director Thomas Sobotzik. The obligation therefore makes it more likely that the OFC will also hand over actors in the winter transfer window. The first candidate for this is Campagna, who no longer plays a role since he was sent off at the 0-1 in Ulm.
Tomorrow evening Laprevotte, who the OFC found good after a few days of trial training and a test match at 1899 Hoffenheim II, will not be part of the team in Balingen.
OFC coach Angelo Barletta is doing everything he can to end the year with a positive result after the sobering 2-0 draw against VfR Aalen. There are enough motivational aids available. The second defeat of the season on Saturday first of all, of course, but also the memory of the game that was canceled at short notice on September 25 due to a corona case in the TSG squad, when the OFC, who had arrived the day before, only found out about the cancellation a few hours before the start of the game. This time the kickers will not arrive until the day of the match after they have completed the final training session tomorrow morning and then the obligatory corona quick test.
Barletta will give his men an urgent advice on the way: “We have to act with a hot heart but a cool mind. Otherwise there is a risk that we will become tense and act headless, ”warns the OFC coach. And if there was a further disappointment, the bottom line would be a negative experience at the end of the year that does not do justice to the trend. After all, Barletta sees the OFC on the right path after a year in office. “You can see an increase, we have a clean team that wants to learn from mistakes. I am convinced that there is still a lot to be done. ”But Barletta also knows what is required in Offenbach:“ Ultimately, it’s about results. ”
In Balingen tonight, the OFC can prove how capable it is of learning. The opponent will act similarly to Aalen last time, looking for a quick switch game from a compact defense. “There are ways to play for this team. The most important thing, however, is that everyone wins their duels for themselves, ”says Barletta, who left it open whether he would make changes. Captain and goalkeeper Stephan Flauder also appeals for a consistent duel: “The longer the zero, the better it is for us.”By Jörg Moll)
