Hospitalized under duress in a psychiatric unit after the facts, the forty-something had been placed in police custody on December 17, after being released from the hospital.
Presented on Saturday before an examining magistrate from Nancy, the 40-year-old Villaroise was indicted on charges of “attempted murder of a 15-year-old; administration of a harmful substance with ITT of less than 8 days per spouse and willful attack on the life of a domestic animal, tamed or held in captivity ”, specifies the deputy public prosecutor, Amaury Lacôte. She was remanded in custody at the Nancy penitentiary.

Husband awakened by screaming
The assault had taken place shortly before 4 a.m., in the bedroom of the sleeping child. Awakened by the cries of distress of the little one, the husband had intervened while the boy already presented at least two superficial wounds on the neck and thorax.
A paternal intervention without doubt decisive to stop this attempt at infanticide. The child had been taken care of by firefighters and hospitalized at the Nancy-Brabois children’s hospital without his “life-threatening prognosis”.

Drug fatal to cats
About an hour before the knife attack, around 3 a.m., the depressed 40-year-old, who had just lost her job, had tried to drug her sleeping husband. “By trying to insert a pipette in his mouth and explaining to him that it was a relaxant to put an end to his snoring,” noted the prosecutor François Pérain the day after the events.
The relaxant had also been administered to the family cat. Discovered dead in the accommodation, the animal succumbed to the dose of medication.
