HFA 2020 will be an extension of the annual NEXT-IMAGE Awards shooting contest and provide platform for creative filmmakers to showcase their artwork to a global audience. The contest will be held from 18 December 2020 to 18 March.

In a short period of time, HFA 2020 has earned a reputation for discovering and nurturing the next generation of creative talent, encouraging creativity, and inspiring new content creators to explore new and creative ways in the field of videography. To participate in a film festival, content creators must submit short films using products from Huawei that support cutting-edge video content.

Video length should not exceed 10 minutes. For registration, it would be better if the prospective participant registers himself using a PC for a better experience.

“With the burgeoning mobile content creator market growing exponentially, this is a great platform for APAC filmmakers to share their amazing work with the rest of the world. HFA 2020 enables Huawei device content creators to express themselves, celebrate achievements, learn new skills while inspiring others, in a separate ocean, “said Andrew Garrihy, Huawei Global Chief Brand Officer of Consumer Business, while inviting the public to join Huawei’s mission to liven up the story.

For judging, Huawei selects leading industry experts from around the world to evaluate submissions and select winners. Respectively, Laci Kobulsky – Slovak extreme sports photographer, who championed creative photography techniques, and has worked with world influential athletes such as Aaron Hadlow, Alby Rondina, Paula Novotna, Youri Zoon, Gisela Pulido & others, apart from producing her own complete kiteboarding documentary entitled “Aaron Hadlow TWENTY”.

Then there is Emir Shafri, a creative leader driven by his love for crazy and exciting “what ifs,” who has won prestigious awards, such as the Cannes Lions, the first SXSW Interactive Innovation Award from an Asian agency, New York Festival, London International Awards, ADDYs, EFFIEs, Spikes, ADFEST and Guinness World Records. In addition, he serves as Chair of the 2019 Malaysian Kancil Awards Jury and trains startups and social companies.

“Terry Chan, the award-winning Chinese advertising director who has been recognized at the Tiger Roar Awards, China Awards and Effie Awards. His tireless passion for cinema led him to direct his own documentaries in Germany, Italy and Japan,” said Andrew Garrihy.
