The Simcon gaming convention starts in November – also with digital components.

In November of next year Messe Offenbach wants to start the Simracing Fair and Convention – Simcon for short – on the exhibition grounds for the first time. The city of Offenbach announced this yesterday in its newsletter. Accordingly, it is “a topic-specific event for those interested in sim racing (eSports), hardware, software and gaming”. The new fair will take place on November 6th and 7th, 2021.

Despite the current situation and the challenges also for the event industry, which the pandemic brings with it, Messe Offenbach wants to continue working on its own concepts, the message says. One is “certain that a positive view of the future and the planning of new concepts is important and correct”.

The Simcon is “planned on the basis of the current legal framework and continuously developed”. But it is already certain that next November the trade fair will also contain digital components, and trade fair visitors should be able to participate in different ways.

The idea that the corona pandemic will “permanently change the event and especially the trade fair industry” plays into the development of the new concept. Industry experts and exhibition companies would have to deal with “how they can deal with the changed framework conditions in future and how exhibition concepts can meet these new requirements”. bil
