A hunting dog that crashed down a 45m cliff in the mountainous region of England survived with only fractures and bruises.

According to the British Daily Metro on the 21st, Walter (2), a Hungarian Vizla hunter, fell down a 45m cliff while climbing the South Yorkshire mountain region with his owner Jonathan Rice at about noon on the 15th.

Walter couldn’t move properly because of a broken pelvic bone and bruises and bleeding in several places on his body.

The dog owner Rice immediately went down the cliff with his three friends who had been climbing with him, lifted Walter back onto the cliff, and at the same time contacted the nearby Idale Mountain Rescue Team for help.

Fortunately, Walter was transferred to a nearby hospital after first aid by a veterinarian at the scene of the accident, and was able to return home in 24 hours after surgery.

Walter underwent major surgery, including removing the crushed pelvic bone and inserting an iron core to fix the cracked bones.

The vet said that it was lucky and miracle that Walter was alive, and that all the pelvic bones were broken, so he would take a rest and regain his normal shape over time.

“I have received all of the Christmas gifts that Walter will receive for a lifetime,” Rice said. “I am grateful to the medical staff for the prompt and active treatment.”
