The images of unleashed Chinese youth, at parties or concerts, are the symbol of a victory over the coronavirus, celebrated as it should be. In the crowded streets of Wuhan, epicenter of the epidemic, it already seems far away. “Wuhan has returned to normal life, everyone is feeling good “, confirms a young woman. The city is transformed. 11 months ago, the megalopolis of 11 million inhabitants had disappeared. The quarters were padlocked, due to draconian confinement.
Three weeks of isolation
Even today, travelers arriving in China are subject to strict quarantine. A French woman thus spent two weeks in a hotel room, with an absolute ban on leaving, then another week in solitary confinement in her apartment. A method that she considers excessive. “After two weeks, it is clear that I do not have the Covid, I did the tests at the airport, I repeated the tests seven days later, a blood test too, the results are negative, but I must still continue to be confined“, she explains.
