The Angels – Animal cruelty available at all times for human entertainment? A charity makes grave allegations against YouTube.

The US animal welfare association “Lady Freethinker” claims to have found a total of 2053 videos in which animals were injured or even killed for entertainment purposes only. This reports the Guardian.
The examples to support the allegations are harrowing: Two dogs that are chased by their owners on a dwarf boar. Two little kittens attacked by a fearsome snake.
A video posted by the animal rights activists on the YouTube competition platform Vimeo uploaded shows their concerns in detail.
The criticized clips were published on 150 channels and had 1.2 billion views, says “Lady Freethinker”.
“YouTube needs to be better able to monitor and remove any video that violates its policies and standards,” said founder and president Nina Jackel.
The recordings also include videos of “fake animal rescues” in which people deliberately put their pets in danger and then heroically save them in front of the camera.
The charity now intends to start a petition urging the video portal to immediately remove all videos that violate community standards and take meaningful steps to prevent animal abuse.

YouTube responded immediately to the allegations and requested full details of the investigation from “Lady Freethinker” in order to remove the clips if necessary.
A spokeswoman for the video platform said: “The community guidelines of YouTube Prohibit any violent or bloody content intended to shock or deter viewers, including unnecessarily harming animals. We regularly remove videos and comments from our community that violate these guidelines, and in many cases we also close users’ accounts. “
