Kolkata: After Mamata Banerjee, Suvendu Adhikari, the most popular senior Trinamool Congress leader, was joined by nine MLAs and one MP from various parties in the BJP in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The BJP was joined by five Trinamool MLAs, one MP, three CPM MLAs and one Congress MLA at a massive rally organized by the BJP in West Midnapore.
Amit Shah has announced that the BJP will win more than 200 seats in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Bengal. There are 294 seats in the state assembly, which will go to the polls next year.
‘Didi, this is just the beginning. There will be no one with you when the election comes, ”said Amit Shah. Suvendu Adhikari, Mamata’s right-hand man, resigned from the ministry on November 27.
Thousands of supporters and 50 TMC leaders in Midnapore rallied in support of the authority. BJP state president Dilip Ghosh and state in-charge Kailash Vijaywargia were also present at the rally.
BJP national president J.P. Amit Shah’s visit to Bengal comes nine days after Nadda’s convoy was attacked. In the run-up to the elections, Bengal has been given the responsibility of campaigning for six Union Ministers.
